Lost Landing Net

A member has reported a lost landing net: “I went fishing last night from St. Catherines Bridge, all the way down to Haverfordwest on the hospital side of the river and have lost my net. The net is a black Abu Garcia net with an extended handle. The handle is very stiff, and doesn’t extend all the way.” – if found please contact us and we’ll arrange to reunite it with its owner. Fishing Rights Update

The Committee is pleased to inform members that they may resume fishing up river from St Catherine’s Bridge to the end of the the Chapel Hill Fishery. Unfortunately, Bunkers Hill remains a “No Walk Through” area and we would ask all members to respect the wishes of the new owner with whom we continue to finalise terms of the lease. Members fishing downstream from Treffgarne can fish up to the end of the Lewiston Farm area that borders Bunkers Hill.

Important Notice About Bunkers Hill

Members will be aware that Bunkers Hill is under new ownership and the new owners are in the process of purchasing land and fishing rights immediately below Chapel Hill. We regret to inform members that the Committee have been unable to agree acceptable terms with the new owners to enable us to continue with the “walk through” facility at Bunkers Hill and appropriate signage will be in place by the 1 April. 2012 Season Notes

For those members who were unable to attend the AGM here are a few points and reminders to note for the new season which opens on 1st April 2012. All salmon caught before June 16th must be returned. The season will run until September 30th for Brown Trout and October 17th for Salmon. The last 10 days of the season from 7th to 17th October are CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY.
